What is the Golphin Junior Flag and Stableford Challenge?
This format gives each child 36 shots to play as far round a shortened golf course as possible with points being awarded based on where they finish on the course. The average length of each hole is approximately 150 yards over the 9 holes. An order of merit is formed over the series of events with the winners being the players with the most points come the end of the series. The Stableford event for those that hold handicaps to ensure that this really is a tour that is open to all. New for this year is that all the Stableford players will be playing over 18 holes and will be able to return their scores to their home club for handicap purposes.
To sign up for any of our 3 tours this year it will remain at the same price as we have charged last year at £50. This will include entry into all of the events for each tour and access to our grand final at Trump Turnberry which is based on our Order of Merit. A 10% discount is applied to any additional tours when joining up. Click here to register
The Glasgow South Tour
This is where it all began, we have been operating the tour over the last 3 years at courses in South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and Glasgow Areas.
In 2017 we had 77 competitors playing over 8 different venues competing within the categories 5-7, 8-10, 11+ and Stableford. 2017 was our most keenly contested year so far with us noticing marked improvements from event to event!
NEW! 2018 Ayrshire Tour
What can we say? We had plenty of enquiries last year for events “down the coast”, it would have been rude not to organise an Ayrshire tour for this year!
NEW! 2018 Glasgow North Tour
Another area where we had many enquiries was North of the Clyde….so once again we are introducing another new tour for this year. Our Glasgow North tour will stretch from Dumbarton to Moodiesburn
The Race to Turnberry
Over the last 2 years we have taken 40 participants to Turnberry for our grand final…..the only way to get there is to play your best throughout the tour events!
We work hard to make sure that all the events are fun and family friendly, so if you’ve got a budding Junior golfer who isn’t quite ready to hit the course yet, come along and be part of the fun and participate in our chipping and putting challenges and find out what it is all about!
